Telstra 4G Mobile Broadband - Can't login to Home Page Admin

Hi there

I'm unable to login to the Mobile Broadband homepage to change the password.  Address in the instructions is http://m.home (and I've successfully logged in before) but now all browsers say the cannot find the page.

I am using the device for internet now so definitely connected.

I know I'm missing something really obvious.

Try logging into both http://bigpond.4G and http://telstra.4G and let us know how that goes :-)

Hi Ben

 

It's a 4G USB+Wi-Fi. I think I may have resolved the issue in my case. I had to log in with administrator privileges to get the  page to open in the browser. In my resctricted user account it simply opened a blank page. It's not recognising my password, but that's another issue. Thanks for your reponse, anyway!

I'm having the same trouble.

 

I have a Nighthawk M1 and it tells me i have 2 alerts and to login to http://m.home for more information.

 

I have logged in there before but all i get now is the below message.......

 

This site can’t be reached

 

m.home’s server DNS address could not be found.

 

Try running Windows Network Diagnostics.

 

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN
 
Diagnostics does nothing and it doesn't matter which browser i use, always get the same message.

Are you able to try going to 192.168.1.1 instead?

 

Failing that, the error DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN usually relates to your browsers.

There are steps you can try available here that should resolve the issue for you.

 

Please note that some of these steps require a restart of your computer once completed.

I did not try the other 2 suggestions as they seem a little to complicated for me.

 

I will add though that I have just tried to login with my Samsung Galaxy S5 with the same results as above, I also tried logging in on my iPad using Safari to no avail, message there is "Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found".

 

I find it a little hard to believe that I would need to adjust all my devices to log into the http://m.home website, especially as I had no problems logging before, I would suggest the website is where the problem is.

 

Your thoughts?

The "website" in this instance is a local address, not based on the internet.

You should be able to access this even if you have no connection to the internet.

 

Are you able to try a factory reset of your Nighthawk modem.

 

To do that, remove the back cover (it should slide off in the same direction as the arrows on the back).

You'll then see a small black reset button - Press and hold that for a full 10 seconds.

The modem should then restart.

Lol........I knew I shouldn't have touched the factory reset......

 

Did the reset and followed the prompts, got the congratulations that my device is ready to use, hit Apply and that's where everything has stayed, my dashboard is empty and there are no messages etc.....

 

The modem still says Setup Required so will take it back to my local Telstra shop, best I leave it alone for now and they can deal with it, patience exhausted...

I can't login to set up my Netgear Model (replacement as the other one died)

telstra.4g’s server DNS address could not be found.

bigpond.4g’s server DNS address could not be found.
