Telstra Elite 3G Mobile Broadband Device USB constant dropout and overheating
am starting travelling out west again and use this devise to be connected. Bought it last year. Concerned with the overheating for my laptop (the laptop where the toggle is connected gets also very hot) and frustrated with dropout. Tells me I am online but am not. going gradually out as far as Longreach in the next few months. Would an upgrade to a WiFi 4G devise give me better connectivity please?
Have you tried using a different USB port? The device can become warm during use but it should not get too hot. If it continues to heat up and then drops outs start occuring when its hot then it is likely the device is overheating.
If a different port has not effect then I would suggest dropping it into a Telstra store as the device may be faulty. Our 4G network is currently focused in large centres so if you are travelling in areas where coverage in minimal or sparse upgrading will have no effect. This is because the outlying network is predominately 3G.
