WIFI home page access

Answered

Regarding accessing home page for my telstra 4g wi fi unit (huawei SKU TBDF XX683146)   The default IP gateway is 192.168.1.1  (checked command prompt ipconfig)and the dongle itself tells me this on the menu screen.

I have checked linksys forums, gone into network settings on my control panel, tried 192.168.1.100 plus suffixes (home, m.home)ETC ETC ETC!   Still no joy! Why on earth is this so counterintuitive? i.e infuriating! It cannot be that difficult! If telstra buys and vouches for these products, it should ensure the "manuals are much more detailed".

Need help from some off duty techy or renegade IT guru. I am an analogue man (elderly) who has just developed the opposing digit and come in from the cold to the digital man's (oops!), PERSONS, world. If this keeps up, I think I'd be better off back in Analogland.

Re: WIFI home page access

Weird!...but thanks steph; when I clicked on the link http://m.home/ in your reply to my post, I was at last after literally months of trying, taken to the home page for my wifi modem. It was connected via usb cable at the time. However, when I type the exact same address into my browser's (google)  search bar, it goes nowhere! why is this so?

Re: WIFI home page access

Hi Longjok

Generally to access the WiFi devices home page, just go to http://m.home/
However, just make sure you're connected via the USB cable when you do it - if you're connected via Wi-Fi it mightn't work.

And make sure there's no www of course.
