bonus credit - transfer from credit

Hi there

 

My 12 month plan is about to expire on 7/2. I have over $100 credit remaining and $4.00 bonus credit.  I have the capability to send and receive texts on my laptop through my Telstra mobile device which is very handy as I don't own a mobile phone.

Q1 - can I transfer any of my credit over to bonus credit?

Q2 - last year, I paid $150 for 12 months but only a small proportion of this fee went to bonus credit. Can I increase my bonus credit and reduce my data credit for a 12 month plan?

I'm afraid you misunderstood. Recharge credit (as opposed to bonus credit) on your Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband service (or Pre-Paid Data+ Cap offer) can be used to pay for making calls and sending SMS messages. You don't need to (and cannot) transfer recharge credit to bonus credit just to be able to send SMS messages (and receiving SMS messages is does not cost you anything).

thanks for your reply - just to confirm, when I buy more credit for the broadband to use on my laptop toggle, I should select recharge credit which I can use for either data or sending and receiving SMS messages?

I'm not a Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband customer myself, so I can't tell you from personal experience, but as far as I'm aware there is no option per se – you recharge, and by virtue of the terms and conditions of the Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband service you can use the recharge credit for either data usage or sending SMS messages (or make calls, for that matter).
