Global roaming - international day pass

Just had a message through to say that you guys automatically enable international day pass rather than use pay-as-you-go rate. 

what happens if I do not want to use the international day-pass?? Can one still turn it off and use the pay-as you go rate?

The next time you activate your mobile service in an eligible destination, instead of pay-as-you-go-rates you will automatically activate an International Day Pass. Please call Telstra (132200 - Consumer & 132000 - Small Business) for them to disable the International Day Pass and you will be then charged pay as you go rates when going overseas.
