just wanted to know ive been to my local telstra and they said i can use my proof of age card which i have done in the past as i dont drive, i just wanted to know if i took in my oujt of date proof of age card and my temporary id card receipt thing they give you at the rta would that be acceptable? i need this upgrade bad.

You would need valid identification.
You can only use an Australian/State Government issued Proof of Age/Identity card ONLY when combined with a Medicare card which includes the applicant’s name.
