Understanding and activating the International Day Pass
Our International Day Pass is the perfect option for those travelling overseas who want to continue using their Telstra service abroad. We’ve compiled some of your most popular questions about the International Day Pass to help you better understand how to make the most of this service during your next trip.

Each day you activate the Pass, you’ll receive unlimited talk and text to standard international numbers, as well as 200MB of data to use that day (calculated from the time of activation).
How much does it cost?
The International Day Pass is $10 per day, or $5 per day if you’re travelling to New Zealand, charged only on the days you activate it.
How is the Day Pass activated?
A Day Pass is activated any time you use your service overseas in an Eligible Country. This includes apps like news sites or email that may update in the background (without you actively using them), or anytime your phone connects to the network.
What if I need more data?
If you use more than 200MB in one day, we’ll automatically give you an additional 500MB for $10, which is valid for 31 days.
International Day Passes are available for use each day but are only charged when you use your service overseas in an Eligible Country. Each day a service is used in an Eligible Country, $5 or $10 will be charged to your account and the inclusions listed will be available for use that day in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). Unused data expires at the end of each day (AEST).
What’s not included?
Some usage is excluded from the International Day Pass, such as MMS, video calls, third-party content charges, calls and SMS to premium numbers, satellite numbers and operator-assisted calls. These are charged at standard international roaming rates.
Can I use the Day Pass while on a cruise?
Cruise ships utilise satellite services rather than a mobile network. Therefore talk, SMS and data usage made on cruise ships won’t be covered by our Day Pass. We recommend contacting your cruise ship or travel provider to find out about their on-board arrangements.
Is the Day Pass available on pre-paid plans?

I’m already overseas – how can I contact Telstra support?
