I have only the blue ‘link’ light on. It occasionally turns off,”. Phone and internet are blank. No outages in area? Have turned on and off with no change?

If you have an FTTN/B connection probably a fault between Node and the Gateway or less likely faulty Gateway. You could try a factory reset of the modem by pressing rest button for at least 10 seconds while gateway is powered on. Modem should reboot resetting everything to factory defaults. Will need to use a bent paper clip or similar device to press reset button.

If you have more than one phone socket try another phone socket and connect gateway directly to phone socket without using a Filter / Splitter. Make sure nothing is plugged into any spare phone sockets.
