Bridging Sagecom F@st 5355 modem to TG797n router

Answered

Hi all, I am attempting to bridge my modem and modem/router together (names above) and I have completely no idea where to start. I have a powerline adapter providing Ethernet to the other side of my house but I need a wifi connection. My TG797n is in bridge mode and has the same network name and password as my F@st 5355, and they are joint by lan(modem) to wan(router). my router receives no internet with that configuration. a step by step guide would really help.

Re: Bridging Sagecom F@st 5355 modem to TG797n router

I assume you have connected modems directly to each other first to eliminate power adapter causing a problem.

Some Telstra gateways disable the WAN port when in Bridge mode.

Have you tried connecting LAN port to LAN port?

If that doesn't work.

Reset the TG797n to normal mode.

Change its IP address to 10.0.0.139

Turn of DHCP

Connect LAN port of F@st 5355 to LAN port of TG797n

Make sure you change the router IP address of the TG797

Actually, I have another problem, when my devices handoff to the TG797n. they connect, but have no internet connection.

Telstra Smart Modem

Plug in and connect in minutes. Smart.
