Connecting my new Gen 2 Telstra modem router to Orbi and TP link switch

Answered

Hi I have just received my new NBN Gen2 Telsrta modem router, which replaced an exisitng unit that worked fine with our current setup, but now does not allow connection to my TP-link switch.

Issue: I cannot connect the TP-Link TL-SG1024D - 24 port switch to the LAN connection on the Telstra router. It does recognise the internet connection. I am unsure if it because the IP adresses are the same and don't know how to change.

IIMG_4457.JPG need some simple tips as I am not tech savvy!

That picture looks like the Sagemcom F@st5355 Gateway which had a LAN IPv4 address of 10.0.0.138 and a LAN DHCP range of 10.0.0.1 to 10.0.0.254

The new Modem has a LAN IPv4 address 192.168.0.1 and a DHCP range of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254.

You could try changing the LAN IPv4 and DHCP range to match that of the old modem. To do this open a WEB browser on a device connected to the new modem and go to http://192.168.0.1, password is Telstra.

Click on Advanced

Click on Local Network

Enter 10.0.0.138 in the Local IP address field

Enter 10.0.0.1 in the DHCP start address.

Enter 10.0.0.254 in the DHCP end address.

Save settings.

Reboot modem or disconnect and reconnect all devices that were connected to modem.

Once rebooted the login address of modem will be http://10.0.0.138

These instructions apply to the Arcadyan version of Smart Modem Gen 2 LH1000. Instructions for the Technicolor version DJA0231 are almost the same.

If you have any problems you can revert modem back to original settings by pressing reset button for at least 10 seconds using bent paper clip. Reset button is on back of modem near LAN port 2.
