Re: Google cromecast

To disable access point on router you can turn of WiFi by pressing the WiFi button, or by logging into the modem going to WiFi settings and disabling the radio for each WiFi bands.

Why do you want to disable the routers access point for Chromecast? You need a WiFi network for chromecast to work.

Re: Google cromecast

i got the following msg when trying to set up the cromecast : " Your Chromecast has been set up but can't be found, make sure your phone & chromecast are on the same wi-fi network." then the help centre suggests to disable access point on router

Re: Google cromecast

You may need to disable band steering on the router. This will cause the 2.4 & 5GHz networks to show up separately. Then connect both devices to the same network (I'd suggest the 2.4GHz network) and see how you go.
Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Telstra Smart Modem

Plug in and connect in minutes. Smart.
