Is Telstra Smart Modem for FTTC compatible with FTTN

Hi, I’ve recently changed over to NBN as FTTN with Telstra. I’ve received my Smart Modem today and have noticed it’s for FTTC. I have plugged in and it’s working so far. Should I ring try to get the correct modem for FTTN or is the FTTC modem compatible with FTTN? Would I have issues down the road?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Is Telstra Smart Modem for FTTC compatible with FTTN

The smart modem is compatible with all types of NBN and Telstra broadband services so there will be no problems down the road. The accessories that the modem comes with will depend on the service. For a FTTC service it will come with a Ethernet cable for connecting WAN port to NBN modem but for a FTTN/B service it will come with a telephone cable for connecting DSL port to Telephone socket.

Re: Is Telstra Smart Modem for FTTC compatible with FTTN

When it comes to what it says on the outside of the box, the only difference between the ADSL, FTTP, NBN HFC, etc versions is what extra cables are included.

The are all the same modem with the same features
