Re: Modem sync results

Yes those are normal results. There is a bug in the Sagemcom software and the upload attenuation always shows zero. In the example below the results were taken from a Sagemcom modem with earlier firmware which as well as having a bug which showed upstream attenuation as zero also showed downstream noise margin as zero. The upstream noise margin is higher than in your link stats because the upstream link rate is being limited to 6.8 Mbps as modem was connected to a 25/5 speed tier NBN  connection. A noise margin of 6.5 is normal if the link rate is the same as the maximum link rate.

Looks very similar to what you posted on Friday. Were you expecting something different?

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Re: Modem sync results

Thanks for the information, that helps.  I have a new Telstra Smart modem but i can not see these stats like the older modems I have.  As I am having some issues, I am trying to make sense of my connection with some older modems.

Some modems seem better than others.

Thanks again
