My mother-in-law has just been connected to the NBN using a Smart Modem Gen 2 (FTTB I think).

She has phone only and no data. Her cordless phone is a Telstra 9350 DECT 6 connected to the phone port on the modem. The problem is that the cordless phones light up intermittently but there is no ring and no incoming call. This is confusing my elderly mother-in law no end. Is this caused by the modem testing the line for connected devices? Can it be stopped?
