since going onto cable i seem to have a "NAT" problem I have an ouside room that is connected to the modem/router via a POE unit, which in turn connects to an xbox. Since cable i have a strict NAT on MW3 and a restricted NAT on Fifa 12. Does anyone know how to fix this ?

Sorry, I have no idea what you're trying to describe.
The only known NAT problem in the Netgear CG3100 is that the capacity of its NAT table is quite small, and once it fills up completely the device is apt to reboot itself as a means of clearing the NAT table, hence causing network service reliability issues from the user's perspective.
To circumvent that, you can turn off NAT in the CG3100 (in other words, put the device in bridge mode) and use a more capable (BYO) router in conjunction with it.
According to telstra this modem is locked. and no firmware upgradable. Well done telstra? The only solution is to buy another modem then bridge it... After paying for a useless modem from telstra, no they want us to buy another one....
