NBN FTTN - Swapping Telstra Gateway (F@st5355) with Smart Modem (DJA0230)

Does anyone have any experience with swapping out an older Telstra Gateway (Sagemcom F@st5355) with a new Telstra Smart Modem (Technicolor DJA0230) on an NBN FTTN connection?

 

The existing Telstra Gateway (Sagemcom F@st5355) modem is continually resetting and causing issues, and I already have access to a spare Smart Modem (Technicolor DJA0230) for an FTTN/FTTB connection (was used on another account but has since been reset).

 

Is it just as simple as swapping the devices and the new modem will just work on FTTN (i.e. doesn't need any username/passwords entered)? Or does Telstra need to allocate the device to the connection?
