I had a NBN technician come around today to switch my cable over to NBN, all went well however no modem delivered. Check with customer service and have been advised there is a delay with modem delivery and will be another 1-2 weeks!!! So now I have no internet access.....why have the technician come out then? I am very upset as have been on the phone for hours with Telstra Customer Service (overseas) and all they can say is sorry about the delay BUT you can go and buy a modem yourself! Not happy!!!!!
Was this helpful?
Is it the NBN modem that hasn't been delivered, or your Telstra modem, or both?
No NBN modem installed as promised on the scheduled day but Telstra Modem delivery that was due yesterday failed to arrive. When I followed up with Customer Service was told of a warehouse issue?? and delivery could take another two weeks! Why have the tech come out and disconnect my perfectly good a fast cable connection when there is no modem to replace it?? Ludicrous!
Which model did you use to use? If it has a WAN ethernet port, then you could plug it back in to the NBN modem.
Below is method for enabling WAN port on CG6300BD It would similar for the earlier modem CG3100
Enabling WAN port of CG6300BD
Connecting PC to LAN port of Netgear CG6300D and log in to CG6300D ( http://192.168.0.1 )
Go to the 'WAN Setup'
Then a drop down menu will come down and one option is 'WAN backup
Once you click that the screen will give you an option to 'Enable - Wan Mode'
Select that option.
Router will reboot
