Netgear Nighthawk Mk2

Hi, 

I have Netgear Nighthawk MK2 for my home internet using 4g.

Even when i am not using much internet it uses up alot of data.  I've gone through my 50gb allowance in 2 weeks but i am rarely home using much internet.  i use more off my 4g phone and it uses much less.   some days i dont use any and check the modem and theres been a few gb's usage added on.  looking at the forum for MK1, there were alot of complaints similar...   can anyone help?  I feel like im getting ripped off the 4g plan due to selecting a bad hardware.
