We have a Samsung TV that we often watch iView etc on demand and this has been working fine until recently. We no experinece a problem where the TV can connect to the router but cannot connect to the internet. The TV displays the correct DNS, a valid local IP address etc. Interestingly the TV can access the update server for the TV software. 

 

Does anyone have any solutions to this problem or know of Telstra Cable issues of this nature?

Hey Andrew,

 

There are a few tactics we can try to troubleshoot this. We can start with the connection/modem. Have you rebooted the modem recently? Can you try defaulting the modem and see if that helps?

 

Alternatively, we can troubleshoot at a TV level, but we can only direct you to the manufacturer for that.

Hi Brodie,

 

 I reset the TV connection and this did not fix the problem.

 

However, when I reset the Telstra Gateway to the Factory Defaults (an option on the Gateway admin page), the TV successfully connected once the Gateway had fully restarted.
