Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster

Answered

I am thinking about getting the telstra smart wi-fi booster for my house.

The information supplied about the booster says that it auto changes the frequency to get the best wi-fi connection.

I have a couple of devices currently connected to my Telstra nbn modem/wifi that only operate on 2.4GHz.Will these still work all the time with the booster or will they drop out if the booster selects the 5GHz frequency as the most optimal?

Re: Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster

The 2.4 GHz WiFi devices should still work with no problems. The booster will still transmit both bands at all times. Each WiFi band is made up of a number channels that operate at different frequencies. When the booster changes frequency it switches to another channel within the same band.

Thanks very much for your comments.
I would be interested if anyone is using the Telstra SMART Wi-Fi booster and whether it has helped them improve wi-fi communications around their house.
