Telstra gen 2 wifi booster dropouts/reboot cycling

Hi,

I am having persistent frustrations with Telstra Wifi Booster 2 dropouts (seemingly caused by connect/disconnect cycling) that have lasted several months. I'm pulling my hair out.  Telstra phone/internet support can't do anything except tell me to turn the devices on and off again (some deny even supporting the model at all). After taking one booster 2 back to the Telstra store I was told they are not serviced in Australia so no one could diagnose if it had issues. They had me purchase a new one and then have a reimbursement on our Telstra account after a service complaint.  The new device is facing the same issues.

An extract of the Modem/router log is below - I have thousands of pages of these - showing the connect/disconnect cycling. This usually starts after the network has been running for a few hours. Anything that was connected via the booster gets kicked off the network. The laptops are particularly badly affected and we usually have to reboot the entire network to ensure a stable connection. To say this is frustrating - not least because of the inability of Telstra to understand/identify/support the product – is an understatement.  We have a two storey house with a partial concrete sub-floor so having a mesh network is really important to getting full coverage, but at the moment its better to have a weak connection with just the router on than one which constantly kicks us off when the boosters are on too.

The below is a tiny extract of the router log which is 2.4meg just for the relevant day of this disconnect/reconnect cycle.

Re: Telstra gen 2 wifi booster dropouts/reboot cycling

Hey Brendan_g, thank you for your post.

I am sorry to hear of these ongoing troubles with this after speaking with us. As you have raised this with our front of house staff to no avail, to have this escalated submit a complaint online here https://tel.st/va8sw and reply to me with the reference number. At the moment you should hear from a case manager in 3-5 business days to follow up, but if you reply to me with the reference we will request you be called as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Re: Telstra gen 2 wifi booster dropouts/reboot cycling

I have seem similar symptoms to this in another post and it turned out an incompatible WiFi device on the network was causing the drop outs, Have you tried disconnecting all WiFi devices? If dropouts stop then gradual reconnecting devices until the drop outs start to find device causing the problem.
