WiFi Mesh or Boosters for Better Coverage?

I just got connected with FTTC NBN 50 plan.  I did a Wifi map and found that some parts of the house have weaker signal and slower speeds.  House has two stories house and I placed the modem in the middle of the house upstairs but the farthest area from that point is our living area and kitchen where we spend most of the time however there wasn’t a good place to place all the equipment there. So as it turns out we may need a wifi boost to get a stronger signal from the upstairs to that area. The house has thick walls, possibly brick with cladding and it’s very long house from front to back.

Does anyone recommend a mesh system that they know works with the Telstra Smart Modem 2?  I saw that Telstra sell “wifi boosters” but not sure if either are the same as a MESH system which I hear is better?

Both of these Telstra booster/accessories are not available/sold out at the moment.

Anyone with experience with these or others like TP-LInk’s M9 mesh system with the Telstra NBN modem? Are they compatible and easy to setup?

thanks in advance!
