USB on Telstra modem doesn't recognize functioning devices eg USB hub, Pringtre, Seagate esternal Drive all of which work when connected to a computer.
I want a network drive capability which should be available. Please advise.

Which modem do you have? (Arcadyan (LH1000), Technicolor (TG799, TG800, DJA0230, DJA0231) or Sagemcom (F@st5355))

If its the Technicolor DJA0231 log into modem and go to Advanced > Content Sharing. IP address of modem is http://192.168.0.1 and password is Telstra. Make sure File server and DLNA server are ticked. You should also see the attached drive. See image below.
You can un accept the solution by clicking on the three dots top right and selecting Not the solution
thanks for your help...
the thing is - I've done exactly that, but I don't see the drive in the bottom panel - just 'currently there are no connected devices'
so here I am wondering what I've missed...
Are there settings elsewhere to change first?
How do I test the USB port to see if it works?
