What's the difference between a cable adaptor and a modem?

Re: wifi

Cable adapter is a cable modem, where as the telstra smart modem is a adsl/vdsl modem and router. You need to cable modem for your cable connection and connect and router with wireless capabilities to it. In most cases this is a Telstra supplied modem/router.
