New internet connection

Hi. My partner and I have moved into a newly built stand alone granny flat and are getting a connection put in, this process so far has taken 3 weeks and we are being connected in two weeks now. We have been informed we need a technician to come out and do the connection. When the place was built we had a phone line laid by an electrician that runs from the front property to our house. I'm just wondering if you can inform me on the cost of having the connection done for this as our landlord is paying for this.

This isn't for nbn though. Just adsl. And I was never informed of this when I signed up. I was told it would just be $99 activation fee.

If it is a new line that the tech needs to connect to the network it is a new connection so would typically be the $299 new connection for ADSL. If the line had previously been connected and being reconnected it is $125 or if it is an active line just then the activation fee would apply.

It is listed in the standard guidelines but if you signed up either by phone or in store and they advised it would only be $99 then you might be best to speak to billing to dispute the difference if you end up being charged the full amount.

Thank you for giving me abit more information on this. if I had known it would have taken five weeks and me trying to chase up what's going on with my connection every week because no one informed me of them cancelling my first request I probably wouldn't have bothered with Telstra. Been more of a nightmare then anything. But fingers crossed the next two weeks wait is worth it 😬
