Porting a number from Optus to Telstra

Can anyone tell us how long it takes to port a number from Optus to Telstra the consultant at JB HiFI told us 30 minutes it has been like 8 hours now

While in most cases an order for porting your mobile number can go through within minutes to an hour or so, at times it can take a little longer.
