Activating Ethernet Ports Around Apartment and Moving Modem
hey, so i’ve just moved into a new apartment and i’ve setup my gen 2 smart modem successfully.
the nbn fttp box is in the cupboard which isn’t ideal as my modem is in there at the moment. it does have ethernet ports underneath it so i’m wondering is there a way we can move the modem from the cupboard somehow and plug it in via ethernet in a different section of the apartment?
also how do you get the other ethernet ports in the apartment working?
If your apartment has ethernet ports in other rooms other than where the FTTP NTD is, then there should be a patch panel (usually located in the same place) that you would plug a LAN port of the modem in to.
If you could post a photo of what you are looking at, that would assist greatly in pointing you in the right direction.
Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
