Issues with new Wi-Fi

Just set up new Wi-Fi, all lights are green, phone says Wi-Fi is connected but no internet. Connected the Wi-Fi to my laptop just fine however every time I try to open a website it says connection is not private and won't let me enter into the website. Thankfully I was able to access http://modem which in the end didn't turn out to be useful because it said 'Your broadband service is working normally. You are connected online.' and everything else on there checked out as well. I would really appreciate some help to get everything up and running.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Issues with new Wi-Fi

Check the number of users permitted on your wifi modern. If not restarting modern helps. Also you need to check in your modern if your DNS settings are active

Re: Issues with new Wi-Fi

If you have a smart modem with 4G backup try disconnecting the DSL port (ADSL and FTTN connections) or WAN port (all other types of connection) Wait about 4 minutes for modem to switch over to 4G backup. If Internet works reconnect DSL or WAN port and try changing both IPv4 and IPv6. Ther is a drop down menu for selecting DNS at Advanced > Local network. Disconnect and reconnect laptop after changing DNS.
