Things you need to know:

  • With an International Day Pass, for a daily rate of $10 for eligible countries and $5 for New Zealand you can make and receive unlimited voice calls and SMS to standard numbers around the world – including Australia – while you’re in the eligible countries (see ‘International Day Pass rates and inclusions’). Standard numbers include local or international fixed-line and mobile numbers.
  • Some usage is excluded such as MMS, video calls, third-party content charges, calls and SMS to premium numbers, satellite numbers and operator-assisted calls. These are charged at standard international roaming rates.
  • You’ll also get 200MB of data to use in eligible countries each day (based on AEST). After 200MB, you’ll automatically get a Data Top-Up of 500MB for $10, which lasts up to 31 days. International Day Pass has to be active to use the Data Top-Up, which will be used after your daily data allowance. If you use all of your Data Top-Up allocation, we’ll apply another 500MB for $10.
  • You must have international roaming enabled to use an International Day Pass. Your International Day Pass starts when you use your mobile in an eligible country by making or receiving a call, sending an SMS or using mobile data.
  • To find out how to monitor your usage while you’re away, visit: Telstra.com.au/overseas International Day Pass is not available on any mobile plans that include an international roaming allowance, such as premium plans.
  • Your Apple Watch Series 3 GPS + Cellular will only have network connectivity within Australia. When overseas, it won’t be able to use a mobile network, even if your mobile can.
  • Pay-As-You-Go Data Usage Charges: Excess data rates will be charged at $3.00/MB when you are roaming.

Does the day pass last for 24 hours from the time of activation? Seems to me and my current travelling companions that it resets at midnight AEST?

Does the fact that you cross into another country cause a reset of your day pass? This could cost a significant amount when travelling alongside a border such as the France - Belgium border.

Where can I check how many day passes I have paid for? Doesn't seem to be any way of viewing your current usage any more!

Hey MickeyCee,

The International Roaming Day Pass will run on AEST, so you will have this reset at midnight AEST for the data allowance and be charged the $10 if the service is connected and used when in an eligible location.

No this will not reset if you enter another Country as it is run off AEST when activated on your Telstra account.

There will not be a specific amount of days listed for when the Day Pass has been applied for, but you can make a close assumption from when you have accessed the account for the first time and then each day from then when you have checked to see what data has been recorded. These will be applied accordingly once the Billing Cycle has been completed.
