Why?

We’ve evaluated the sports that Australia loves most and have decided to focus our energy on making the viewing experience of those codes better than ever. As a result the EPL club channels will no longer be supported. Additionally, due to a declining customer demand, it is no longer viable to continue the Adult Only channels.

Lastly, the Australian News Channel and Channel NINE have made the decision to close Your Money and as such this channel will no longer be available.

FAQs

Your Money

Q: Why has Your Money been cancelled?

  • The decision to close Your Money was made jointly by the content owners at the Australian News Channel and Channel NINE.

Q: Does this mean SkyNews Business is coming back?

  • No, there are no current plans to resume SkyNews Business.

Q: What alternative business/ money channel are we able to watch now?

  • Sky News Live (channel 600), regularly covers breaking business news and features expert business journalists from across Australia on its news and national affairs programs. SkyNews has a proud history of providing expert business journalism and analysis to Australians and remains unwavering in that commitment as it now considers how best to optimise its talent and expertise across the Sky News platforms to ensure it continues to deliver this important service.
  • Foxtel from Telstra also airs the internationally acclaimed financial news channels CNBC (channel 644); and Bloomberg (channel 650).

Q: What happens to channel 601 now?

  • When Your Money ceases its broadcast on May 17, channel 601 and its secondary channel slot, channel 290, will be removed from the channel line-up. We’ll keep you posted on any changes to the channel slots.

Q: Was the channel unsuccessful?

  • That’s a question for the content owners, the Australian News Channel and Channel NINE who made the decision to close the channel jointly.

EPL channels

Q: Why have we removed the EPL club channels and EPL channel programming blocks?

  • We routinely evaluate our channel line-up and have made the decision to prioritise the sport codes that Australia loves most – focusing on our line-up of NRL, AFL, A-League, Cricket, F1 and Rugby World Cup
  • Foxtel from Telstra is still the home of Australian Football, and sports customers can continue to enjoy the Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League, FFA Cup, Socceroos and Matildas Internationals along with the AFC Champions League.

Q: Which channels have been impacted?

  • The EPL club channels include Chelsea TV, LFCTV (Liverpool FC) and MUTV (Manchester United); dedicated programming blocks on FOX SPORTS include coverage of Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Q: Does this mean we might get EPL back on FOX SPORTS?

  • We’ve evaluated the sports that Australia loves most and have decided to focus our energy on making the viewing experience of those codes better than ever.
  • We have no other plans around the EPL, but will always be open to new opportunities should they arise.

Q: What can our die-hard soccer fans watch now?

  • Foxtel from Telstra is still the home of Australian Football, and sport subscribers can continue to enjoy the Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League, FFA Cup, and Socceroos and Matildas Internationals along with the AFC Champions League
  • In addition, beIN SPORTS continues to host the best of European Football including La Liga, Series A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, EFL Championship and others and is also available for Foxtel sports subscribers. Plus, ESP will host the FA Cup final on 18 May.

Adults Only

Q: Why have you removed the Adults Only service from Foxtel?

  • Adults Only served a declining group of customers and keeping it on-board was no longer viable.

Q: Were you under any pressure from outside groups to remove Adults Only?

  • No

Q: Where can I view similar content?

  • This type of content is no longer available on Foxtel from Telstra. Check out some of our great plans, including our $90 Unlimited Internet plan to support your online streaming needs. Broadband Protect is included in this monthly cost, helping protect every device connected to your Telstra home internet from websites hosting known malware, malicious content, scams and viruses.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

You’ve got to me joking. Removing channels, no replacement. And prices don’t go down. As a matter of fact you increased prices not too long ago. No wonder Foxtel popularity is declining. How can you hope to keep customers by treating us like this.

Seriously...."decision to prioritise the sport codes that Australia loves most" - do you think this type of misinformation is believed... you are losing customers because you no longer have the rights to the EPL and champions league DOH!  The MOST POPULAR SPORT ON THE PLANET INCLUDING AUSTRALIA  - you lose this content and replace it with nothing and still expect people to pay the same amount or more ????????  At least be honest and don't treat your customers like idoits - WHERE NOT!

Ridiculous! My husband watched the business channel and soccer all the time. Taking off these channels leaves no alternative but to change to Optus for all services including broadband for far less than what we currently pay Telstra.

Thanks for nothing

The Your Money channel was not one of their own channels, it was a FTA channel and it was closed by the owner. That one is outside of the control of Foxtel.

Hi,

I've looked at both Foxtel and Telstra sites now and the explanations for taking away the EPL services are weak and disgraceful to customers. I don't want to hear about the lame excuses, the following is a cop out, i watch 2 of those channels below and have Platinum Foxtel and both AFL and the Cricket is on free to air. If you are watering down my subscription and enjoyment then where is the reduction in pricing. So really  we would be better off with Kayo and Optus Sports, less than $50 a month. You know you should be cheaper than you are its about time you prove it. I'm just about done.

  • We routinely evaluate our channel line-up and have made the decision to prioritise the sport codes that Australia loves most – focusing on our line-up of NRL, AFL, A-League, Cricket, F1 and Rugby World Cup "this is a joke".
  • We’ve evaluated the sports that Australia loves most and have decided to focus our energy on making the viewing experience of those codes better than ever. "Who evaluated it, more jokes"
  • We have no other plans around the EPL, but will always be open to new opportunities should they arise. "of course you don't, pay nothing to get it but keep charging us the same"

@Eddy59 Well, taking away the EPL Club Channels would technically result in a cost reduction of 1 cent per channel per year (which is what the charge was for these channels).

@Jupiter Then why take them away?

Because Foxtel have obviously decided that their wasn’t enough interest in or support of it as a product to justify the costings.

I'm not sure where you got your 1% from, but the Monthly costs for Liverpool TV is $8.49, yes Foxtel may have negotiated better deal for the 4 channels. These were sweeteners from them for losing the EPL. Foxtel lost the EPL, as they cant compete with OPTUS and Telstra Foxtel want to charge the same (which on content wise is more). Telstra have now lost Championship football, FA Cup and the club TV stations, so now we have nothing.
What ever the cost is my issue it is that conditions keep being eroded away and no drop in price.

It's clear they are not interested in EPL and the World Game by whats being said on their site.

If you don't ask you don't get and we are paying way too much for Foxtel Services through Telstra.

The EPL in Australia has a large audience. I'm Australian!!!!! The comment below is a lot of dribble, excuse the pun

"We’ve evaluated the sports that Australia loves most and have decided to focus our energy on making the viewing experience of those codes better than ever". "I'd like to know how so"

No, not 1%, 1c per service per year, the three of them are $0.03 per year extra in total.

Once per year there is a $0.03 fee that is charged to everyone that has the Sports Package on their service (0.01c for each of the three)
