This looks like a really good idea.

Two questions come to mind...

1) How far does the The Telstra Voice Extender increase the signal?

2) Are these available for sale separately? Many of us got connected to Bigpond NBN before this was available so it wasn't in our kits.

1. At the end of the day it is a DECT adapter. Probably range is somewhat comparable to WiFi range

2. As far as i know they are available separately. RRP is $48

Hi @Ozmoz, thanks for the questions!

1) The range of the Telstra Voice Extender is up to 50m between the electrical outlet and the gateway.

2) As @Yastiandrie mentioned, yes, these can be purchased outright and the RRP is $48.

I hope this helps!

@Yastiandrie and @ashliem, where might one purchase it?

I've searched, and, so far, can't find Telstra Voice Extender available anywhere.

Also, from what I can gather, it is to connect a corded phone via wifi. Is this correct?

Good question. You may have to get it via phone sales

@Yastiandrie

? "phone sales"? If you mean a physical Telstra outlet, I've read report that one of them hadn't heard of it.

I can try 1800 676 442 though. There's a corded phone with extra large buttons I might be interested in too.

We do have a DECT phone in another room, but the situation is that we can't swap between the corded and DECT phones during a call. I can't use the little handsets and the only standard size or large button DECT phones I can find are DECT 6, and I'm informed I need DECT 2 for Telstra.

(Could've had a voice extender sent in the first place, had I known.)

Ok, so..

1800 676 442 didn't know what I was talking about, but she switched me to the billing department and that got it.

$48 + near enough to $10 for delivery. That's express though, by the sound of estimated delivery date.

I rang the local Telstra shop first. He seemed to know what I meant, but didn't have any. Said I should call 13 2200, or some similar number. I don't recall exactly.

Cheers, and thanks, everyone.

1800 676 442 is Handset Sales, btw..

How do I buy one of theses without having to go a Telstra store. I have spent nearly 2 1/2 hours on online chats. I have phoned a Telstra Store and was requested to leave my phone number and that someone would call me back. It didn’t happen. We have had NBN connected and cannot connect the phone to the modem because of the position of the modem. The technician told me to contact Telstra to get the phone working. What a nightmare? Everyone I have spoken to so far have no idea of what a voice extender or wifi extender is.
