Moving home? How to take Telstra with you

Moving home? Plug in your Telstra Smart Modem™ with its inbuilt SIM, and you’ll have broadband access in minutes – so your broadband moves in the same day you do.

 

Already a customer?

We can help you move your existing Telstra services and even set up new ones, including home broadband, home phone and Foxtel from Telstra. Our online request form only takes about 10 minutes to complete, then we’ll take care of the rest.

What you'll need

To arrange your move online, we’ll need your:

  • New address details
  • Preferred disconnection and connection date/s

The sooner you can provide us with your preferred dates the better, as in some cases, a technician visit will be required.

Once you've booked

We’ll contact you within 24-48 hours to confirm:

  • Your connection and disconnection date availability
  • If a technician visit is required

Move Options

 

The Standard Move - $89

Moving a single phone and/or broadband service.

Book your move online and we’ll arrange for your services to be connected. All you need to do is take your modem and/or home phone to your new address and plug them in.

 

Sometimes a technician will need to visit to complete the connection. This could be a Telstra or nbn™ co technician depending on which broadband service is available at your new address (ADSL, Cable or nbn™). After you’ve booked your move request online, we’ll let you know within 24-48 hours if a technician visit is required.


The Platinum Professional Move - $240

Moving a single phone and/or broadband service and a technician visit.

Book your move online and we’ll arrange for a Telstra Platinum technician to come to your new address and: 

  • Set up your home broadband and Wi-Fi network
  • Connect up to 5 internet-enabled devices to your Wi-Fi network
  • Install and set up your Telstra home phone service

All you need to do is take your modem and/or home phone with you.

 

Sometimes nbn™ co will need to send a technician to your new address if you’re connecting to the nbn™ network (this will need to occur before your Telstra Platinum technician visit). Book your move request online and we’ll contact you within 24-48 hours to advise what is required.

 

The Platinum TotalMove - $399

Moving a single phone and/or broadband service, a technician visit and ongoing support.

Platinum Total Move is our premium moving service. Book your move online and we’ll arrange for a Telstra Platinum technician to come to your new address to set up your:

  • Telstra home broadband (including Wi-Fi) and home phone services
  • TV, sound system and all your eligible devices

All you need to do is take your modem and/or home phone with you.

 

But that’s not all. You’ll also get:

  • An in-home consultation to help you make the most of your technology
  • One month of Platinum helpdesk support

Platinum Total Move is available for customers who will have ADSL or nbn™ at their new address.


Good to know

Book your move with us, and we’ll send you a Telstra Smart Modem™ to get you back online sooner. Using its inbuilt SIM, it connects to our mobile network while we’re setting up your home broadband, then automatically switches to your home connection once it’s activated.

 

Taking Foxtel from Telstra with you?

Moving Foxtel from Telstra is a separate cost of $100. You’ll need to take your existing equipment with you, and a Foxtel technician will visit your new home to complete the process.

 

Moving to a new development?

If you’re taking up a service on the nbn™ network and moving to a recently built property that hasn’t had a fixed internet connection before, a $300 New Development Fee may apply.

 

Moving multiple phone services?

Please note that there is an $89 charge for each additional service that needs to be moved.


Not yet a customer?

We can help you set up Home Broadband, Telstra Smart Modem™ and your entertainment. Get connected sooner when you plug in at home through our mobile network (using your home broadband allowance), whilst your home internet is being activated.

Things you need to know

Telstra Smart Modem™ requires 4G coverage for the mobile backup connection. You can check your coverage at www.telstra.com/coverage. Your mobile backup connection is limited to speeds of up to 6Mbps for downloads and 1Mbps for uploads. Actual speeds will vary due to local conditions and content accessed.
