Will Telstra offer eSIM support?

Last year we were one of the first Australian telcos to introduce eSIM technology for connected smart watches and we will introduce eSIM support for smartphones in the future as customer demand builds.

Things you need to know

1The display has rounded corners. When measured as a rectangle, the iPhone XS screen is 5.85 inches diagonally and the iPhone XS Max screen is 6.46 inches diagonally. Actual viewable area is less.

2iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are splash-, water- and dust resistant, and were tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 2 metres for up to 30 minutes). Splash, water and dust resistance are not permanent conditions, and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone; refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions. Liquid damage is not covered under warranty.

Are there any plans/information regarding support of the eSIM in these phones?

I am soon going to have both a Telstra business plan for work and a personal Telstra prepaid account. It would be perfect if either of these are going to be compatible with the eSIM in the iPhone Xs.

I ordered an iPhone XS Max last Friday, will I receive it this Friday?  I live in Perth WA.

Looking forward to esim with Telstra as well to use the work number and personal number on the same device rather than carrying two phones. Happy if esim is only available on a sim only contract.

I ordered a iPhone X’s max in gold unintentionally but after I had I cancelled it (so I thought) I re did my pre order as what I really wanted a iPhone XS Max in black 512gb the phone I got was the one I cancelled and I thought suck it up just use it so I send my iPhone X back and 3 days into using this one when you charge it it heats up like a shuttle on re entry. I call Telstra who tell me They won’t send my phone that I reordered and a bag to return this heat missile and can’t send back because it’s pre ordered

Pre-ordered iPhone Xs 512GB Space Grey on Sept 14th and I am still waiting for my order. Talked to online chat Sept 24th and was promised expedited delivery by Sept 27th, did not occur of course. Order number tracking status has not changed. The alternate tracking number supplied by online chat changed to back order Sept 25th.

Not happy at all. I have been a Telstra customer for a long time.

Disappointed and dismayed by their failure to fulfill my pre-order, failure to notify me of problems/issues that could possibly explain their failure to fulfill and that I was promised expedited delivery by a customer rep that did not occur and I was not notified!(Leading to me waiting around all day for a no show)

Any info would be useful, my flipping order would be better.

Hi theSKULL. Really appreciate your patience in this. Has the order now been filled? I'd like to know you're up and running with the new iphone. - Matthew.

MattyC. I am still waiting. No change to order status. Just checked order tracker and it says “try again later”, so there’s another thing Telstra can’t do. If my order ever shows up I will be utterly shocked.

Hey theSKULL,

Due to global stock constraints we currently don't have a delivery time frame for iPhone X backorders. As soon as we have stock of your desired model and colour we'll ship it out.

Apologies for the frustration.
