Switching from 3G to 4G
As mobile network technology is constantly evolving, 3G no longer provides the fastest internet speeds on your device. First switched on in 2005, the Telstra 3G network will be around for the next several years, but it won’t be here forever.
For the best possible experience on the Telstra Mobile Network, we recommend using a phone that supports 4G.
What is 4G?
4G is the fourth generation of wireless technology that has replaced 3G. With each generation, we’re able to offer faster internet speeds to help you get the most from your mobile data.
With increased speeds 4G can make a big difference to your device, as well as vastly faster speeds.
Is my device 4G enabled?
To check whether your device is 3G or 4G enabled, go to your settings and view your network or mobile data options. If there is an option to connect to 4G, your device is enabled.
How can I get 4G?
You can enjoy 4G by simply upgrading your phone. It doesn’t have to be the latest model, just one that is up-to-date enough to support 4G. Take a look at our selection of 4G enabled devices.
