We’re giving our cable customers faster speeds at no extra cost!

We’ve sped up our cable service so our loyal home and small business cable customers get faster speeds at no extra cost.

What can you expect?
If you’re on our standard cable speed tier your maximum download speeds will rise from 30Mbps to a maximum of 50Mbps, while your upload speeds will lift from up to 1Mbps to a maximum of 5Mbps.

And, if you are a customer with a cable speed boost, you will also see your upload speeds lift from 2Mbps to 5Mbps.

The boost for cable customers follows our move last month to upgrade more than 850,000 Telstra home and small business customers to the Standard Plus speed tier at no additional cost.

What do you need to do to get faster speeds?

Simply switch off your modem at the power for a couple of minutes. And when you switch it back on your new speed profile should be configured.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you

I HAVE FOLLOWED YOUR ISTRUCTIONS BY TURNING OFF THE MODEM ETC AND WHEN I CHECKED THE DOWNLOAD SPEEDS WERE ONLY 24. WHY IS THIS. THE UPLOAD SPEED WAS 4.0 WHICH SEEMS ACCEPTIBLE. BUT NEITHER HAVE MADE ANY SUBSEQUENT IMPACT ON THE OPERATING EFFICIENCY OF MY COMPUTER.

I have also followed Telstras directions and my speeds have reached a HIGH of 14 at max, this has been ongoing since roll out of NBN.

"New Speed Profile" WTHell. A profile is not defined as reconfigurable. Check it please.🙊🙉🙈🔍 😵

What Lawfully Governing Authority empiwed you to reconfigure the media publishing language, accepted universally, a word or words, create a word or conjunctional words their definition, within differing contexts, or the repetition of said word/s to infest the readers vocabulary to mislead thinking, demonstrated historically through denounced by WHO & UN political regimes and violently tainted mantra's or catch phrases, leading to a misguided violence towards minorities and whole populations believing a singular self proclaimed manifesto. Consider the audience, purpose, clarity, familiar vocabulary.

The use of profile in regards to settings is common in IT, particularly in regards to move settings. Line Profile is a commonly accepted term for settings on an internet connection. So are you suggesting that they should make the statement less concise by saying something like ‘to update the speed regulation aspect of your line profile’?

It is is based on the definition of profile as:

“description of someone or something that gives important and useful details about them”

in this case, them, would be it. But is well within understandable use of English. It is a living language and naturally does grow and change with society and culture.
