I am selling my tBox N8200 and have been told that I need to have it de-registered and to call Telstra to have this done.
Turns out that the department within Telstra no longer exists (as from 31/3/18).
How do I get this sorted so that the new person can use this beast?

I don't think it will be necessary as all online components of the t-box have been discontinued it is now essentially a set-top box with FTA recording capabilityThe tbox registration site has been shut-down also
