Auto dial when lifting receiver

Hi,

 

Is there a way to configure a TIPT phone to auto dial a phone number when the handset is lifted? We want to put a phone in a lobby for people to lift the handset and be dialled straight to reception

Hotline is available on TIPT Polycom phones.  This feature was introduced with Polycom firmware 3.3.x and the hotline number is set using 2 provisioning tags.  The group administrator can set these.  The tags are:

 

%HOTLINE_CONTACT% - The number to be called when the handset is lifted

%HOTLINE_ENABLE% - Set to 1 to enable the feature

Feature is called HOT LINE . I dont think TIPT have this feature . There is a feature PUSH TO TALK but it works bit different .

I would suggest :

-  Put restriction for  all external calls on that lobby phone  .Only allow group call

- Programme the reception number on the  one of the line key ( vvx 300 is called favourite )

- Users can lift handset or press speaker then press the button ( Display next to key will show reception )

yes you can , it is done via tags

 

Create a hotline call_autoOffHook.1.enabled 0
call_autoOffHook.1.contact value needs to be entered by user

 

tags are added to the config of the users handset in comm pilot.

browse to the users profile - then address - the  configuire device / identity profile - then custom tags - add the above tags - then click files and click rebuild file and reboot phone.

 

Should be then set as an instant hotline

Is there any better way to manage visitors without lifting a handset?
Would be great to have a sensor in reception that activates a doorbell message/text to staff in the back of office, when a visitor is in reception or have an App that has an image of a doorbell button that visitors push on an iPad and triggers a message to back of office staff like a silent doorbell.

Can a IAD have the Autodial tags added to it for a specific line? We have a Lift phone that we want to connect to an 8 port IAD and we want the line the lift phone is connected to autodial a specific number when off hook but only for that line not the other 7 lines on the device.

This option works really well.  Is there a document outlining all the custom tags that are available and what they do?
