Hi,

I was wondering if there was a release date for the Telstra UC-One client?

Thanks

Re: Telstra UC-One

The current release date is the 13th September 2013, which is allowing time for some scripting activity to make it easier for people to get up and running with TIPT UC-One.

In the meantime, for those people that are keen to get started with TIPT UC-One, the majority of the components that make up the solution will be in place by next week.

  • The Android client is already on Google Play (search for TIPT UC-One)
  • the iOS client is currently with Apple – it should be available on the App store sometime next week after going through the approval process
  • the Desktop PC Client will be loaded onto the TIPT Online Resource Centre (ORC) this weekend
  • the TIPT UC-One documentation & guides will be loaded onto the TIPT ORC this weekend
  • TIPT Standard & Executive Packs will be upgraded to v9 this weekend - this adds in the licences for the TIPT UC-One mobile and desktop clients
  • When loading the clients for the first time, individual TIPT UC-One users will need to enter the configuration URL(s) shown below, in addition to their TIPT user ID (usually phonenumber@customerdomain.com or their e-mail address) and their TIPT password (same one that is used for the TIPT Toolbar and Comm-Pilot login).

Mobile Clients: https://cmanager.tipt.telstra.com/uc-one/mobile

Desktop Client: https://cmanager.tipt.telstra.com/uc-one/pc

  • The TIPT Customer Group Administrator (CGA) will need to create some Shared Call Appearances (SCA) for the mobile and desktop instances - this needs to be done on a per User basis.

If the last point sounds tedious (which it is for a large number of Users...) don't worry - Telstra will run a script to automate the creation of these two SCAs for every Standard & Executive pack User within a customer TIPT Enterprise.

Scripts will be run in the evenings (to reduce load on the Provisioning Server) from next Monday evening onwards – it will take approx two weeks to complete, which is why the current release date is scheduled for the 13th September.

You may find that your Enterprise is one of the earlier ones to have the script run on it, in which case everything will be in place for your users to start running TIPT UC-One without needing their CGA's assistance.

Re: Telstra UC-One

Hi Paul,

I have dowloaded the PC client and mobile client but I can't log in on either. Should I be able to login or is something not setup yet?

Thanks

Todd

Re: Telstra UC-One

Hi all,

The scripts to create Shared Call Appearances (SCAs) have been running all week and are expected to be completed over the weekend - this should mean that once you install the client(s) and enter the required credentials they will start to work automatically, without involvement from your TIPT administrator.

Here is the link to the TIPT ORC section that explains how to set up and use the clients (the download for the desktop client is also located here).

http://www.telstra.com.au/business-enterprise/help-support/tipt-resources/uc-one/index.htm

One oversight that we are correcting is the TIPT-OCS (Lync) packs did not get upgraded to V9 in the first script run - these should also be completed by next week. This only affects users that have Microsoft OCS/Lync integration with TIPT for Click-to-Call from Lync and Call Presence display (your User Packs will have OCS in the title if this is the case).

Remember - the clients will only fully function if your device has access to your corporate network (which in turn has access to the TIPT servers via interconnects).

This means that for mobile devices running on 3G or LTE you will either:

  • need to be running an APN into a Telstra IP wireless port (which many organisations that run TIPT already have in place) or,
  • the user will need to activate the VPN on their device prior to using UC-One (assuming they have one set up to access your corporate network).

If you are using public WiFi then you will again need to activate the device VPN first.

If you are directly connected to your corporate network via the LAN (for a PC client) or via in building WiFi then there is no need to do any of the above.

Re: Telstra UC-One

Hi All

Any idea on when the prencence and IM component should be available ?

Or am i missing something in our set up  ?

We have it loaded, can make and receive calls using it as well as the video component, works on the mobile devices but the big feature we are looking for - the precence and IM doesn't seem to be there.

Thanks - Mike

Re: Telstra UC-One

Hi Mike,

IM & P on TIPT UC-One is in phase 2.

We are working with our vendor Broadsoft to trial phase 2 and at this stage the timeline is likely to be the second half of this financial year. We will keep our customers and stakeholders posted when we have the confirmation from our vendor and when dates are locked in

Hi Ajmal

Thanks for letting us know. If you need any user testing we would be more than happy to assist as we are very keen to see the IM and P in play as it could potentially have a big change in the way we work within our business.
