Mobile Telstra modem

Answered

Am I able to use my broadband plan of 500 gig per month with my 4g mobile modem? I rang Telstra and was advised I could if I bought a SIM card. When I went to the local Telstra shop I was told it couldn't be done. I suspect the lady I spoke to on the phone is wrong but in a month I barely use 10% of our monthly plan. Using more of it when my wife and I go away would be great.

Re: Mobile Telstra modem

No, you cannot use your home broadband allowance over the mobile network.

If they let people do that it would put a huge strain on the mobile network and likely result in huge issues... and makes no sense from Telstra's point of view considering mobile data is significantly more expensive because of the nature of the technology.
