Replacing old Telstra widget with the new Telstra 24/7 app

I have a Samsung S5 and recently installed the latest Telstra 24/7 app. Now on my home screen the original Telstra widget box with the white background keeps saying "please replace this widget with the telstra 24x7 widget". However, when I touch that box it pulls up the new Telstra 24/7 screen fine. How do I get that home screen issue fixed? Do I simply remove the old widget? Is it safe to do so?

Hi togax,

I'd suggest you find a blank spot on one of your screens, hold your finger on it until the widget choices come up, look for the 24/7 Telstra widget, hold your finger on it and this should place it where your blank spot is.
Check that it works properly, then delete the original old widget and move the new widget into the place of the old widget.

I tried that (after moving the old one to another screen to leave a space) but it didn't do anything. Later I realized it was not configured yet to display the usage bar for any service (I have more than one). Once I selected the mobile service the widget changed size and I then moved the widget to the home screen again and it worked. I tried to disable the old app but it kept asking me to confirm it would be replaced with the factory default. It appears to be a built-in app. So I just left it alone.

I would just remove the old one and replace it with the new.

 

This is how mine looks, but I don't have a fancy Samsung :-) Only a LG G4
