Telstra 24x7 – Android, iPhone and iPad 24x7 App updates 28/02/2013

The latest updates for Telstra’s 24x7 Apps for Android, iPhone and iPadhave been released.  

 

Once you've upgraded to the latest version you’ll be able to view your home phone usage details and retrieve your forgotten My Account username or password.  We’ve also fixed some bugs and made further improvements.

 

What’s new for the Telstra 24x7 App for Android?

 

  • You can now  view your home phone usage
  • The login screen has changed to make forgotten username and password as well as registration easier to use
  • Email Bill sign up and edit has been made more prominent .For customers who are not on a version of Online billing, we’ll remind you of the feature occasionallyIf you want to turn these reminders off, you can do so by toggling the option in the Settings
  • You can view your data rate and data remaining for Pre-Paid mobile data offers

To give users the best possible experience, this version of the Telstra 24x7 App for Android is a mandatory update.

 

 

What’s new for the Telstra 24x7 App for iPhone & iPad?

 

  • View your home phone usage
  • You can now see the amount of data you have remaining for all Prepaid plans (previously only available on the iPad app )
  • A fix to ensure users outside of the Sydney/Melbourne Timezone are given the correct days remaining on their services.

Is the data usage any more up to date or is it still anything from 8 to 24 hours behind real time usage? For pre-paid data, post paid data and also bigpond data usage.

Hi gwmbox,

 

The delays are actually imposed on the application by the backend systems we consume and not the app itself.  While we are continuing to work with the IT teams on improving these delay times over time the new app version itself may not change this.  These improvements will happen organically over time.

 

Its also worth noting that prepaid usage in particular is fairly well close to real time.  Data usage and call usage will update fairly quickly also.  The times we provide in the apps are worse case scenarios you will find however that the actual delays are far less in alot of cases.

 

I hope you find the apps as useful as we hope you do and we are always keen to hear your feedback such as this.  It is good to know one of your main pain points is up to date usage.  Things like this all help in prioritising and influencing work accordingly.

Moving forward, you should be able to perform any level of cusomisation that can be done via USSD codes. This includes:

- Call Foward/Waiting

- Switching between Messagebank, Messagebank Plus, and Message2Txt

- Having the option to disable Message2Txt

- [iPad] view a PDF bill from directly wthin the app

- [iPad] make changes to existing services (add Messagebank/CallerID)

- International Roaming Status

- Abliity to LiveChat natively from within the app (ie: No browser required)

Hi Ben,

 

All great suggestions. Coming releases will see a bunch of these introduced.  As you can appreciate we are looking at bringing in the most used functionality first with the remainder added to our list of things we want to do.

 

This type of feedback is gold.

 

I would actually like to heard from others on Crowdsupport about what of these and other ideas they would like to see most of all.

Haha,  Funnily enough when Yannick was in Sydney I had a chat to him about this very thing.  I think it will definetly come its just a matter of getting the time to to it right and making sure that we have room in the releases to action the most popular requests.

Hi there....So when is the Windows Phone 8 app coming!?!?  

 

Recently moved from Telstra pre-paid to postpaid afting buying the Lumia 920 on a plan. The installed Telstra One app does not recognise my phone as a postpaid. When I launch it it says "Manage My Pre-Paid" and when I tap on "My account", first option is "My Prepaid". Third option is "View Balance" which comes with an error - "This service is only available to Telstra Pre-Paid Plus customers". Customer Support & Tech bar assistance have not been able to resolve this issue and advised me I should install the new Telstra 24x7 App....which is NOT available to windows phone users!!...or check it online from my browser. 

 

The Nokia Lumia 920 is the heavily promoted flagship Windows Phone for Telstra...yet Windows Phone has been left out in the cold with this new Telstra App....seems a major disconnect here in marketing & user experience.

Hi sandmonster,

 

Firstly welcome to CrowdSupport.

 

Thanks for calling out your experience.  It is definitely not right that you are receiving the prepaid experience from Telstra One and on top of that you should not have been advised to download the 24x7 application given you are on a Windows Phone. I will be taking this up to ensure we have our frontline staff up to date with the latest information.

 

On your issue with Telstra One it sounds like your service number is still being recognised as a Prepaid in our systems.  How long ago did you migrate? Has our customer support team escalated your issue at all or has it just been left cold?

 

In terms of the App for Windows Phone keep your ear to the ground here for any announcements on this.  While I cannot guarantee anything at the moment Windows Phone is definitely a platform we are keen to bring the 24x7 experience to.

Since the update, myself, partner and mother now can not see our cap amount remaining, bonus packs or data usage.

Sorry to hear that. I'm not sure what has gone wrong there. 

 

Could you try logging out and back in first. If that does not work try uninstalling and re-installing. This will fully refresh your user profile and should sort out the issue.

 

If you could also let me know some further details about the devices you are using as well as your upgrade experience it would be great.  This will help us to ensure this does not happen again.

I have the same problem as above. Since the update the app shows me my credit remaining but tells me I have no bonuses or plus packs (which I do and can see if I log in to the Telstra website). This has caused me to go through my credit in only 9 days as I didn't know my data had run out (I would have bought a data plus pack if I'd known and for some reason never got a text to tell me I was out of data either).

I have deleted and reinstalled the app but this hasn't fixed the problem. I have an iPhone 4 on iOS 6.1.3 and I have logged in to the app.

The issue around the bonuses and plus packs not displaying is not fixed in a new release.  See here for further information and thank you for your patience while we worked through this fix.
