Recently my 24/7 app suddenly had 3 extra numbers for three other people's prepaid accounts, these acounts had nothing to do with my account and I had no interaction with telstra, such as changing details or plans or making orders or ANYTHING that I could imagine would even trigger such a serious privacy breach. I had that same level of access to all three accounts as I had on my own - call history - data history - change plan - recharge (perhaps with their credit card?) probably could have spent their bonus points, but call history is bad enough. I called the number to inform them and they called telstra. Apparently it took several calls and they were told that somehow it was my fault? After the telstra support person said 'wow that is really bad privacy issue' they then told that person to call me and tell me to go to a telstra shop to get it sorted out. WTF? What has it got to do with me? You gonna pay me for my time? Nope. No apology, no admission of fault, no explanation, nothing. So if you like your privacy I'd suggest you use another service provider. Not just for prepaid, I think it's probably better to not use telstra at all. So anyway here is my question, before I send the video screen capture of me going through all these accounts in the 24/7 app to the OAIC, does telstra have an explanation, comment or any kind of assurance that my data or anyone's data is actually safe with telstra?

As this is a public forum, no one here has access to your information to be able to look into that. However, as it does sound concerning I would suggest speaking to the dedicated privacy team via the contact details on this page; https://www.telstra.com.au/privacy/privacy-statement
They are the one that will be the best suited to investigate.
Previously worked with a Telstra Partner however I am not a Telstra Employee, just a fellow customer helping when I can.
