Why does the new 24/7 App go to separate internet app?

I have updated to the latest version of the 24/7 app and to much annoyance, when I try to recharge, it asks me to use an internet app to open my Telstra online account to recharge from there. What is the point of an app if this is what it does? I may as well not have an app and simply go to my Telstra account online if/when I need to recharge. It also no longer has my saved card information, requiring me to set this up all over again. Is there any chance that in the future the app will work as it used to & allow me to recharge my pre-paid mobile within the app? If the answer is no here, there is no use for this app for me.
