Tough max zte t84 - System Update

My message app keeps crashing and so I thought I should do a system update.

Android 5.0.2, Kernel 3.10.49

However I cant find any instructions on how to do this.

When I click system updates under About phone it just says "Copy update package to storage card for system updates".

Where do I get the update from?

By storage card I assume they mean the phone storage, as the device does not have an SD card.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Hi @EventSecretary

Thanks for your question and sorry to read about the difficulty updating your handset.

The following page does advise that your handset should have a micro SD slot however there is no download link available to down the update:

To confirm, you are not able to locate a slot for Micro SD card?

I look forward to your response.

Yes it does have a slot. But we don't have card. But that is pointless if there is no download

Hi,

Did anyone end up being able to update their T84?

Re: Tough max zte t84 - System Update

The ZTE downloads page says their was a FW update to Android 5.02, but that it was available OTA only. No downloadable package.

ZTE very rarely issued updates, and only provided a downloadable package if the update couldn't be delivered OTA (ie if it had to be physically loaded onto the device).
