Fixed wireless connection

A client located in Victoria told me about Telstra for business and the option to have a wireless NBN. My client is located 30km from Mildura and his fixed wireless NBN connection is working perfectly.

I have myself my own business and I work from home. As a mechanical engineer I receive on a regular basis files representing approximately 70 GO (3Ddrawings)

My home ADSL2+ internet connect with Telstra is unreliable, unstable to the point that I have to spend hours on the phone with technicians that are located overseas and the problem remains. 2 year’s ago the speed was on average 16Mbps Down and 1Mbps.

Today the speed has decreased to 9Mbps Down and 0.6 Mbps Up with huge fluctuations during the day!

You will understand that with such conditions I cannot have a productive work.

I am contacting you today to see if I can have my business located at 38 Conti Road, Tapping WA 6065 connected to a NBN with a Fixed Wireless connection? I am looking at a large plan (2000Go + Super Fast speed Boost option). In the affirmative, can my personal plan located at the same address be transferred to a Small business plan?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Re: Fixed wireless connection

Based on your address, NBN is arriving in the 3Q18 and you will be getting an FTTN connection.

Unfortunately, you can't get NBN any sooner than they roll it out, and you don't get a choice of technology.

Your only other option at the moment would appear to be an LTE based internet connection. Note: these are far more expensive than a landline based service, so I would suggest you use it in combination with your ADSL service for time critical works only.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
