Sometime after 0930 29/01/19 (this morning), the bigpond email server decided that we were dirty rotten spammers, and started rejecting EVERY SINGLE email we try to send.  Prior to that specified time, we were able to send without issue.

 

Irrespective of message content, type, attachment (or not), subject or flagging, we are presented with the message in the subjectline.

 

We get this in Thunderbird & Outlook across multiple computers, from XP to Win10.

 

It's obvious that some Spam Scan definition update on Telstra's side has borked our access.

 

What do I need to do to get this resolved A.S.A.P?  A 2019 business without email may as well be a 1919 business!

The update i just received is that they apparently have now resolved that issue.

So yes give it a try now and if it doesn't work for you email the postmaster

If you're getting a rejection message from the problem address when sending to postmaster@bigpond.com, try using a different email address to send the details

Update. Looks like there's currently a known issue with the spam filters going haywire.

Its being worked on at the moment

So, the best option at the moment (1220 29/01/19) is to wait for further news on this known issue?

 

Failing that (say, 0900 30/01/19), proceed with your suggestion of supplying to Postmaster:

 

  • Exact dates and times of when you tried to send the email.
    Preferably in the following format (dd-mm-yyyy) (hh:mm AEST).
  • Sending domain/email address
  • IP address at the time of attempt
  • An approximate of the volume of emails that are attempting to send per hour to us.
  • The exact Bounce back message/s
  • A copy from the message that you have tried to send to BigPond domain (including any signature and attachments)
  • Justification of the request
  • Your contact details
