Cannot send emails from my android

I have been unbale to connect my Samsung Galaxy S2 to my bigpond webmail account.  I have used the following settings and have been able to receive emails, however when i try and set up outgoing mail i receive the following error:

 

"Unable to connect to email server to verify your account invormation.  No response from server"

 

  • Incoming (POP3) mail server: mail.bigpond.com
  • Outgoing (SMTP) mail server: mail.bigpond.com
  • Username: Your full BigPond email address (e.g. username@bigpond.net.au or username@bigpond.com)
  • Password:   Your email password

I have left the ports as what has come up as standard.

 

Has anybody else encountered similar issues?  And if so, how did you resolve?
