Our computer crashed and the bigpond email was on it using outlook express, are we able to retrieve the emails through bigpond.

Typically outlook express will delete mail from the server after it has downloaded it. Try to login to your webmail ot www.bigpond.com and clicking webmail at the top right. If there is no mail there then you may have lost it.
