Login Pop-Up

Answered

I have not been having any issues with my email until i tried to send an email yesterday and the login box popped up.

I re-entered my user name and password but it didn't work and the box continues to pop-up.

The following error message appeared so i went into Account Settings but i dont understand what it is i need to do in there as it all appears normal to me.

I have not made any changes to my email settings.

My incoming mail is fine it's just the outgoing that is not working.

Thank you,

Lynda

Re: Login Pop-Up

Hi cf4,

I tried the full email address and it didn't work either.

I have not long got home from work, I went into my email and it was still playing up (I was yet to get onto chat).

I closed the email down again and reopened and it is working fine now, all the emails i was waiting for it to send have now gone and there is no more pop-up.

I went in and had a look at the settings and they had gone back to the original settings.

I have no idea what happened or how long it will last but i will go with it at this stage and keep my fingers crossed.

Thank you so much for your help.

Cheers

Lynda

Re: Login Pop-Up

Hi Lynda

Check that user name is full email address of your account.

and on outgoing server settings the correct encryption type is used

Click on "File"

Click on "Account Settings"

Double click on your email account.

Click on More settings.

Click on Advanced

If using port 465 use SSL as security type. Preferred method

If using port 25 or 587 use TLS

Click on Outgoing Server.

Outgoing server requires authentication is ticked

Re: Login Pop-Up

I've just gfot off the phone with tesltrea support with the exact same issue.

Here is what to do - in case you know how to get to your outgoing server settings, you can jump there and change the Outgoing SMTP server encryption to TLS and port 587 and it will work for you.

If you don;t know how to do this follow these steps

in Outlook

Goto the File menu

Click o Account settings

Click on the email account effected in the list (you may only have one) and then click on 'Change'

Clock on More Settings

Click on Advanced Tab

change the outgoing server encypted connection to TLS

change the port to 587

click Ok Next

You're all set!

Re: Login Pop-Up

Thank you cf4,

I followed your instructions but it is still not working, maybe i have missed something.

I went into 'Outgoing Server' and 'Outgoing server requires authentication' was already ticked.

It then tries to send a test e-mail but fails coming up with this message

Send test e-mail message: The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

If the server is being interruted why am i still getting incoming mail?

Re: Login Pop-Up

Hi Lynda,

Have you tried?

port  465 and SSL or

port 25 and TLS

Your still getting incomeing mail because the incoming server has different settings.

If your still having problems suggest you try the on line chat

Re: Login Pop-Up

@LMMcK

Hi Lynda,

just one other thing Looking at the enter password  image there doesn't seem to be enough room in User Name for full email address. Is the User Name the full email address of the email account?
