bigpond email

is it possible to delete my bigpond account/email (that is no longer connected to any services, it's just the email, everything else has been disconnected) so that someone else is able to create an additional email using the same email address that I have just deleted under their current telstra business account? The email is used for business already and I don't want to risk deleting the account and then it can't be recreated under the other account.

I don't believe it's possible to transfer email addresses between accounts - other than primary username/email address when performing a change of ownership.
